The WHS Boys Swim Team wrapped up their 2024 – 2025 season with their Awards Banquet. Award Winners were: Rookies of the Year - Ryan Stoner, Chris Benefit, Christian Bouma Most Improved - Ben Gutwein Honorable Mention Most Improved - Ayden Johnson, Max Claussen, Titus Parrish, Sam Mooney, Greg Gillen) Coach’s Award/Mental Attitude - Stephen Claussen Honorable Mention Coach’s Award/Mental Attitude - Randy Johnson MVP - Tommy Emery Named to the GSSC All-Conference 1st Team: 200 Freestyle: Tommy Emery 100 Backstroke: Tommy Emery 200 Freestyle Relay: Tommy Emery, Stephen Claussen, Randy Johnson, Max Claussen Named to the GSSC All-Conference 2nd Team: 200 Freestyle: Max Claussen 200 Individual Medley: Stephen Claussen 100 Freestyle: Stephen Claussen 500 Freestyle: Max Claussen 400 Freestyle Relay: Stephen Claussen, Ayden Johnson, Max Claussen, Tommy Emery GSS Conference Record: 200 Freestyle: (1:50.17) Tommy Emery Wheeler High School Records: 100-Yard Butterfly: (52.59) Tommy Emery Fastest 50-yard Split: (20.77) Tommy Emery IHSAA STATE QUALIFIER 50-YARD FREESTYLE Tommy Emery seeded 15th overall with a 21.48 The Boys had a great season which included winning the GSSC Conference Championship for the 11th year in a row! The four graduating seniors will be missed next year, but we look forward to seeing what everyone else returning and any new swimmers joining the team steps up to do. Way to Go Bearcats!
