Boys' Golf Can't Get Putts to Fall; Take 4th at Brickie Scramble

On a chilly Tuesday afternoon, the boys' golf team participated in an annual favorite--the Brickie Scramble, hosted by Hobart on River Pointe's "White" course. After an opening-hole birdie (a tap-in following Junior Mark Gillen's amazing approach shot), the boys had birdie opportunities on every single hole, but couldn't get the putts to fall. Strategy off the tee worked well, but the final approach shots usually left lengthy putts, three of which burned the edge of the cup without falling in. Their final team score of 1 under par was good for 4th place out of 9 teams. The Bearcats return to action this coming Tuesday against Westville at Innsbrook Country Club.
