Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats Stymied By Hobart

Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats couldn't keep up with Hobart and fell 11-3 on Friday. Hobart got on the board in the top of the first inning after Hobart scored on a wild pitch, #36 doubled down the left field line, and #25 grounded out, each scoring one run. A triple by Cash Ellenberger, and an error helped Hobart extend their early lead in the second. Ellenberger earned the win for Hobart. The starter allowed two hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking three. Vincent Tattini took the loss for Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking two. Noah Udzielak led the team with one run batted in. Cash Micciche and Freddy Gaetz each collected one hit for Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats. Tattini stole two bases. Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats turned one double play in the game. Ellenberger provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hobart with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Ellenberger, Jorge Guerra, #12, #36, #29, #5, and #25 each collected one hit for Hobart. #5 and #1 each stole multiple bases for Hobart. Hobart stole seven bases in the game. Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats will travel to Whiting for their next game on Monday.
